Tessel van der Putte (1994) is a Dutch artist and Master student in International law and human rights, at the United Nations-Mandated University for Peace, in Costa Rica. She has always been passionate about politically and socially engaged arts and is interested in the use of art within different spiritualities.
From a young age onwards, she has done fashion design and fine arts. Yet in the last couple of years, she especially produced work of acrylic canvasses based on abstract and cubistic, expressive forms, next to her studies and work with photographer Jimmy Nelson. Colour, in all her work, is of great significance and symbolism to the state of mind it was created in, as well as the emotional message each individual work carries out. Many of her works are tailor made, on request, for her customers and hence show a strong personal touch.
